Also love the way you add tiny bits of "personal" small talk between these two which is just sufficient to keep us interested in the characters but does not distract too much from the main story.

I found this story doubly interesting because my father is a retired forest officer. And unfortunately (or should I say fortunately?)we are vegetarians and he never exercised his "License to kill"
:)Amritahttp://amritablogs.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4162321117041342807.post-11892799680832120942010-01-13T13:12:21.309-08:002010-01-13T13:12:21.309-08:00Thanks for leading me here...well written post, I ...Thanks for leading me here...well written post, I enjoyed reading it:)

Its very hilarious 'I have license to hunt', 'Self defense...lol'. 'Boss wife...2nd anniversary, visiting 3rd daughter...ha ha ha', when the time gold was 150 rs per 10 grams'. You got a gift. Keep up your good work:)

As I told you before I am a biologist but right now working on the subject anthropology...When I was in India, I have visited several reserve forests and worked with tribals, as far as I know, natives/locals/villagers are more aware of the eco-balance than the city dwellers...even when they hunt' they choose either feeble young deer(where the death rate is really high/and as you know re-productive rate is also high)or the old deer(which is in post re-productive stage). And they never trash their plastic goods in the forest, my studies reveals that...they animals they worship/or claim as their totem...is in near extinct stage, thats why it is alleivated to holy.

Here in Mississippi, deer population is more than humans:( We are allowed to hunt during peak season, its a way to put them in balance here!!!Malar Gandhihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16586988066440083113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4162321117041342807.post-8806243296747574712010-01-13T06:05:02.704-08:002010-01-13T06:05:02.704-08:00(smiling) enjoyed the story as usual....
I'm ...(smiling) enjoyed the story as usual....
I'm sure this is going to create a long debate :):):)

I loved the second part of the story very much,
I agree totally with the forest officer friend when he says I tell you, the rate at which these deer reproduce, you come after 10 years, you will see, the forest is gone. There will be no tree. You will be only bumping into deer every where
In fact, the deers can reproduce as soon as they are two years old , so the forests would be very dense if no proper measures are taken...

afterall I esteem that everything on earth, is created in a sort that each living thing is balanced with another, that is Nature, and as the forest officer says, Human beings have got that priviledge to be on top of the food chain and it has always been like that since the Pre-historic times and everything seems to be normal as it is.... ( at least in my opinion)

Btw, deer meat is a very fine, delicate and succulent and we get deer meat abundantly only from November to January;

Long live the Deers and long live Mankind !!gtyukhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18199111855245948402noreply@blogger.com
